St. Ghosty Creatives

St Ghosty Creatives is a creative collective showcasing new work by emerging artists across the arts - specialising in interdisciplinary practise across Literature, Theatre, Film and Sound. Through digital resources, member driven content and our own catalogue of programmed creative projects - our aim is to provide space for work that doesn't fit in anyone else's boxes 🌟 To date, we have programmed five projects across literature, photography, theatre and film. As an organisation, our work has won the Literature Matters award 2024, The Derby Poetry Prize 2025, London Lift off and Voice Winter Film Festivals, as well as being nominated for the Creative Futures Award in 2021. We work with stakeholders and partner organisations across the UK to challenge enduring barriers to creativity by ensuring all our work supports, promotes and prioritises emerging artists in spaces they're not usually permitted to be in.

Holy Mountain: Esoteric Cinema and The Divine

Today we've got another momentous surrealist work which I've definitely been putting off for the simple reason that I can't possibly sum it up. It is of course Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1973 cult classic, 'The Holy Mountain'. It has parodies and critiques... Continue Reading →

Creation

A hunted poet

Poetry, novels, politics, resistance in the war effort, surrealism. Robert Desnos was certainly someone who had a broad range of talents. But his role is surrealism during the 1920s was arguably his most influential act in literature - described by... Continue Reading →

Rebirth

I've spent a while deciding whether or not to write this one. It's a potentially challenging subject matter and one that I have no personal experience with. On the other hand the form which it takes, the 2012 graphic novel 'The... Continue Reading →

The Informal Artist

You might think that calling yourself a surrealist automatically enters you into some secret covenant to which you must dedicate 40 hours a week into being - 'surreal'. It always seems like that to contribute to a genre you have... Continue Reading →

The art of sleepwalking

This is going to be another short one, for small title. But that title manages to pack in the breadth of influence Dali can provide in his artwork, into a short video game puzzler. It's very premise lies on the... Continue Reading →

Dance of Darkness

The title is what many refer to 'Butoh' as. It's considered a largely experimental or avant-garde style of dance and performance theatre composed of "crude gestures" originating from Japan. While it's content is based on the pain, suffering and inner... Continue Reading →
